Kerio Control (formerly WinRoute Firewall™) is a corporate gateway firewall for small and medium-sized businesses. Equipped with VPN server, optional embedded Sophos Anti-Virus, integrated customizable ISS Orange Web Filter, and user-specific Internet access management, Kerio Control provides a multi-layer architecture for protecting networks, servers and users. Kerio Control sets new standards in versatility, security and user access control. Designed for corporate networks, it defends against external attacks and viruses and can restrict access to websites based on their content.
Kerio has added a new IDS/IPS system. It plays an instrumental role in detecting and preventing application exploits and malicious traffic. It was developed by Kerio and is based on the industry-standard Snort project. Just like our built-in Sophos gateway antivirus, the IDS/IPS gets frequent automatic updates to ensure that networks are continuously shielded from emerging threats.
Kerio has played an active role in Internet security since 1997 with the introduction of WinRoute Pro. Originally a software Internet router, WinRoute Pro evolved into a gateway security server, helping SMB customers around the world to connect securely to the Internet. As the team behind WinRoute continued to improve the product, WinRoute started to cater to business needs beyond perimeter protection. Gateway content filtering, multiplatform VPN, and Internet usage analytics were added not only to expand security but to improve quality of service.

Transparently scan all communication between the Internet and the network for suspicious activity. Drop, log or ignore the communication attempt based on the severity of the possible threat.
IP blacklist database blocks addresses linked to suspicious activities. Blacklists and Kerio-signed threat signatures are updated automatically as often as every hour.• MAC Address Filter
This feature allows an administrator to block or allow access to a network interface in Kerio Control based on a device’s MAC address, the unique identifier for its network adapter.
Any network interface, including Ethernet and WiFi, can be restricted to or from a device or group of devices. Decide which systems can access the Internet or connect via WiFi.• New License Policy
IP address connection is no longer considered a user. License allows up to five connected devices per user. Server license includes 5 users; additional user licenses are purchased in blocks of five.• New Anti-Virus by Sophos
